Another night in the big Mikan
So I went to the Hancock premiere last week. As premieres go I kind of looked forward to this one (Charlize Theron!!!!!). I was able to steal a few minutes of her time, and she was quite cool about it. I won't go into the details about what we talked about since it is all pretty boring stuff, but she acted interested and seemed sincere throughout the conversation. I have to give mucho credit for that...
After the premiere and all the excitement, I went to some party held in Marunouchi. A friend invited me so I went and we were able to hang out in the VIP area. Not much fun was to be had there, as there were boatloads of people, none too pretty and mostly boring. The cool thing was that they basically transformed the entire lobby of a big building (Maru-Biru) into a big party area so it was kinda cool. Much like a party at the Met or Museum of Natural History. You get to hang out and drink in areas that one normally would not The bad was that the sound system sucked and the music could not be heard throughout the venue. I guess this was to keep the neighboring establishments happy.
Then it was off to the Century Court for late night drinks. Some of the riff-raff from the party came as well, since it was the nijikai, but spent most of the time talking to an old friend. Century Court is a half regular bar half members club. It is not expensive, and it is cool enough. I did not like most of the people that came over though, so I was in the cigar divan for the entirety.
So much for last Thursday.
